Viscose is 100% biodegradable and uses less water in production than wool, for example. Wool requires ten times the amount of water for its production.

TKG term for "regenerated cellulose fibres produced by the viscose process in continuous filament and staple fibres". The terms "rayon" and "rayon" are not covered by the TKG and are replaced by "viscose staple fibre" or "continuous - viscose" or "viscose - filament".
