Mostly blue - white striped cotton fabric in cloth weave, for fashionable beach - and garden wear. One of the classic trade names, it has been revived as a fashion term in connection with the denim style of modern casual wear. Denim with less than 12 ounces is considered economy quality for jeans and is now produced only in small quantities. Up to 14 oz. denim is considered light to medium weight, 14.5 - 15 oz. are normal weights.
